Boo! Super disappointing! AND I AM SELDOM DISAPPOINTED BY ICE CREAM, Y'ALL. Really wanted to love this when I saw people leaving with luscious looking bowls of soft serve while we waited at T-Bonz. Unfortunately, we got there a few nights later and it wasn't nearly as magical as I'd anticipated. My mom and sister ordered choc-vanilla twist, and the girl said the vanilla was too soft so she couldn't make them both come out, so they each wound up with just vanilla. I ordered orange and vanilla twist--same problem. I'm a genius problem solver, so I requested that she put orange on the bottom and vanilla on the top. The vanilla was fine, but the orange was WEIRD. It was clear that the ice cream hadn't been mixed properly or something, because there were little chunks throughout the orange that reminded me of solidified butter (like if you put buttercream frosting in the fridge). About 1/2 way through, I chucked it because the texture was just too weird, and the flavor definitely didn't compensate. And for $6 a pop? Definite letdown.

Tasty custard but a bit pricey. 3 waffle cones with custard - $21!?!?! Wow. The cone was warm when handed to me which was an added treat.

My wife had Cookies and Cream ice cream while I had the Peanut Butter Twist Chocolate soft serve. My wife's ice cream was extremely freezer burned and min actually tasted like chocolate. The "homemade" waffle cone was not bad but not terribly great either. The price really was outrageous at 13 dollars for two cones. I don't care if this is Myrtle Beach or not. I don't think you can really slam a business for not taking credit cards, after all it is their choice. But, with Square being available these days it really is silly not to take them. I read another review somewhere that said the ATM fee was $4. Maybe they are talking about their bank's fee but the machine in the store only charged me 85 cents. That is the lowest fee I have ever paid but considering how much I paid for the ice cream, I didn't make out on the deal.

They make the waffle cones right here! You can get ice cream AND custard! Both are rich and creamy. The ice cream/custard served in a bowl is kind of a scrawny portion. The cone portions are MUCH bigger. There's not much room to eat in the air conditioned building, but there are chairs outside to sit in. If it has rained, they will be wet, so get some napkins from inside to dry them off. This is located in the Barefoot Landing. There are many shops here - some useless and some actually useful. You can never go wrong with the cold stuff!

Great waffle cones, ice cream, and custard. Very expensive though.

We were looking forward to frozen custard on our trip to myrtle Beach, remembering some from a number of years ago. This was NOT the same shop. The custard was more like regular soft ice cream. It melted as quickly as ice cream and was filled with air like soft serve ice cream. The orange vanilla swirl was good but the price is way too high. Can't anyone bring (rich) frozen custard to South Carolina?

I've always wanted to try their custard but never have. It was an especially hot day and they were handing out free samples of orangeade, which is basically fresh squeezed OJ made into a slushie. OMG this is delicious. We walked by the other location just to get another sample. I was so mad at myself for having just got an ICEE elsewhere otherwise I would have bought one right then, but instead I dreamed about it until we came back a few days later. Seriously, down pass this up, especially on a hot day. Really hits the spot!

Went here while on a SC road trip last August, 2009. Just know that it is in a touristy area and be ready to shell out $8 for a waffle cone with a regular portion of ice cream. We only got one to share because of the price. Cute place, but just a given that it's pricey because of location.

This place was a huge letdown. Aside from being tucked right into the mall and hard to find, the customer service here was a huge turnoff. The girl working the counter clearly did not want to be there and made it well known with her short responses and rude answers. Plus, it was almost 20$ for 3 2scoop cups of ice cream. RIP OFF. The ice cream itself was tasty enough, but there are far cheaper and tastier places to go in the area.

This review is for their Broadway at the Beach location in Myrtle Beach. WAY OVERPRICED!!! I am used to getting Kohr's on the NJ boardwalk, so I didn't bother asking the price. I almost had a heart attack when I ordered two medium sized waffle cones and was charged $14.00. No wonder nobody else was in there. Word of advice to the Kohr's family - You've lasted this long by having a good product and not having to rip off tourists. Don't start doing it now. People tend to leave truthful reviews for everyone to see.

Highway robbery! $9.58 for two small cones! Lesson learned: look for outrageous prices before ordering!! Also: CASH ONLY! How about you get with the times-it's 2013!!!!

Had some custard which was very good. Also had a free sample of the orangeade which was yummie. But it is way to expensive! I did see the prices before ordering but some people did not and were shocked at the price of a cone. NO Credit Cards, but they do have an ATM machine.

What a ripoff this place is. First off, they charge $8 for a freaking ice cream cone...that's just unheard of! Secondly, the "custard" they sell isn't even custard...it's just plain ol' soft serve ice cream. The cones were homemade and were good, but nothing out of this world that I haven't had at a ton of other mom and pop ice cream shops...and for a fraction of the price. Avoid this place at all cost. The price they charge does not warrant the quality of the product.

I got chocolate chip ice cream in a sugar cone tonight and it was good- but the prices that they charge for just a cone were outrageous! They don't have a board anywhere with the prices of each item and after waiting in the queue line/once they take your order, they finally have a tiny piece of paper on display that shows the prices. A ice cream cone is $5.95 and a waffle cone is $6.95. They are one of the only places that serve ice cream in Barefoot Landing so I see why they can charge so much but it's not worth it at all. You can go across the street to McDonald's for a dollar cone and it'd probably be just as good. Note: They do take credit cards now.

The custard was unlike what we are used to in Wisconsin. It has a very gritty texture, instead of the smooth, creamy, richness of Culver's or Michael's. We did not care for it.

Encountered a very rude employee during visit to the shop. She must be so angry because she must not be getting a kickback off of the ridiculous $$$$$ the shop charges for their product? Typical tourist trap that I got caught in with a family of 7. Someone needs to smack me silly if I ever walk into one of their shops again. Prices are only posted on a 4x6ish cardboard sign on the counter(should have been my first clue) & ended up costing $50 for seven cones. Buyers definitely need to beware!

The "custard" is disgusting, over priced and the owner is rude as hell. Snapped at my kid cause standing in his way apparently. Only reason they are still in business is because of tourists. Adults can only order 2 scoops? What the heck is that?!?!!

The mint chocolate chip ice cream here was some of the best I've ever had - but man was it pricey (4 stars instead of 5 because of the cost)! I didn't see the prices posted anywhere, but when I got the register, my Mint Chocolate Chip in a waffle cone was over $7 - I believe $7.41 to be exact. The ice cream was so rich that I actually wasn't able to eat all of it, which is rare for me. While the ice cream was definitely enjoyable, knowing the price now, I wouldn't buy ice cream here in the future.

Turn around!!! The prices are absurd. No toppings available- only for sundaes. I ordered a SMALL soft serve chocolate ice cream in a cup... The total was $6.57. Do yourself a favor and go to Ben & Jerry's to get real ice cream that doesn't taste like butt. Ice cream was NOT worth the price.

There is a good reason they don't post prices. A father walks in, waits in line, and his kids order what they want. When he gets the bill he wants to cry because the bill is soo high. This place is deceptive and unethical as it lures unsuspecting tourists into being overcharged for ice cream.

Never go again. Vanilla and chocolate swirled custard was not swirled and looked like mushed custard very disappointed and then 7. For the mushed custard yes you rip off your customers. I didn't even see $'s listed. I just never would have thought a single on waffle cone to be sooo pricey! No stars!

  • Lew M.

Vanilla custard was tasteless and way overpriced at $6.97 for a cake cone soft serve. Would not recommend to anyone.

    (1)
  • Quinn G.

Yes. Everyone is right when they say the I've cream is expensive... but what isn't in Myrtle Beach? The ice cream is pretty good, but the freshly made waffle cones are outstanding! So over all I will recommend this establishment if you are close by, but I do not think it is worth traveling very far for.

  • Daniella W.

Too damn expensive. Approx $6/7 per cone/cup ice cream. For a family of four, I'd rather spend my money more wisely. I didn't know though told I was up at the counter ordering since the rest of the time was spend in line where the small sign near the register listing the prices couldn't be seen easily. Ice cream is nothing to write home about either. If you want ice cream for you or for you and your kiddos, go elsewhere. This is such a rip off and they should be embarrassed at what they charge.

  • Rich A.

I didn't read any reviews before having any ice cream. I almost died when he told me $6.97 after handing me a small vanilla custard. It was no where as good as Kohrs on the Jersey shore. It was very soupy not thick and creamy like it should have been.

Looking for icecream or frozen yogurt in the area and found this place. It's great location inside the barefoot landing area. Selection of icecream is limited, and it's way overpriced! Flies flying inside the box of the cones but staff did nothing to it!

  • Mapinpa P.

Beware! The ice cream is just mediocre at best. And, the price is absolutely obscene!! $8 for an ice cream cone is just plain absurd. Never again!!

  • Eric S.

$20 dollars for three sub par ice creams. And one of those was a kiddie size in a dish. And it wasn't even that good. Tourist trap to the tenth degree. Never again
